The Next Paranormal Activity...

Ok, so it might cause mass hysteria in Italy, but thanks to you, we get to continue the Paranormal Activity story. Excited? Me too.

The first Paranormal experience was amazing, insane, and a bunch of other over the top adjectives, but mostly, it was extremely rewarding - both because we were able to put out what we think is an amazing movie and because of the fans' overwhelmingly great response.

No one really knows what the studio would have done if there wasn't such great fan support for the Demand It campaign, but luckily, we never had to find out. And while the campaign for the first Paranormal was awesome, I'm stoked because this time we have the opportunity of talking to fans before the movie comes out.

Oren Peli (creator and director of the first Paranormal) has an amazing vision for this next film and we have a stellar team that's going to work their asses off to scare the hell out of you. I mean, that's the goal, right?

And speaking of Oren, I actually have a note he wrote (you may have seen it somewhere on the interwebz already) that I wanted to pass along to make sure everyone saw it...

To the fans of Paranormal Activity,

First, I want to thank each one of you for helping to make Paranormal such a success. It was truly inspirational to see you all band together to demand it be released across the nation. Paranormal has been a story I have wanted to share with the world for a long time and on October 22nd, I would like to share the second chapter with you all.

Paramount Pictures has given Jason Blum, Steve Schneider and I full reign to bring you the second installment of a story that has been brewing ever since I wrote the first film. We can’t say much about the story just yet, but we think you will really enjoy what we’ve been planning. We all agree that we want you, the fans, to know any/all upcoming news regarding the film, first. So, to that end, Jason has set up a personal blog in order to stay connected with you all. Check back at the official Paranormal site or on Jason's blog for future updates.

Thank you, Oren

As for what's next, we'll see. My goal is that this blog will give you an inside perspective of what's happening with the next Paranormal. I'll post stories about casting, script progress, maybe even a few hints here and there (then again, maybe I've already dropped one).

All right kids, that's all for now. Oh, and make sure and stay in touch: Facebook & Twitter.
